~Brief Introduction~
Hi, my name is Gary and I reside on the Island of Oahu in Hawaii...
I think of myself as a "Country Boy"; born and raised in Laupahoehoe, on the Big Island
of Hawaii... My current interests are fishing (deep sea/big game),
boating, gardening, tinkering with my PC and browsing the Internet...
At one time, I was very involved in SCUBA Diving; having been certified as Divemaster by PADI,
and Assistant Instructor by NAUI... My underwater activities included Wreck Diving, Spearfishing,
Underwater Photography, and Shell Collecting... In my younger days, I was into Bow hunting
for sheep and wild boar; I was also into the Martial Arts (Karate)
and earned a 2nd Degree Black Belt... Now, I'm just a quiet, peaceful, Old "Salty Dog" *Grin*... |
~ U.S. Navy ~ If you're wondering why I chose my "Handle", amongst other reasons, I was also born in the "Year of the Dog"... I'm retired from the U.S. Navy, and during my drinking days, the "Salty Dog" was my favorite... Pictured below are the ships I served on; the USS Oriskany (CVA-34) and the USS Harold E. During my earlier days of learning about creating web pages and working with images, "Sky Dancer" and "Sentinel" were among the first pictures I scanned and my very good friend lilli and I worked on applying the Lake Applet to them. I also helped a few people in applying the applet to other pictures for their personal web pages. |
